.

.

BAD MOON:

I’m a Werewolf guy, so to me this film is a love letter to classic horror films. It was minimalistic story wise, but complex all at the same time. It had a Hitchcock vibe to it because you didn’t really know how it was going to end.

.

.

THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL:

This was the low budget film that I had ever seen, and it amazed me. It wasn’t just the production value of the house that drew me in, it was the fact that Ti West was able to make the house a character and utilize to make you feel uncomfortable.

.

THE PUPPET MONSTER MASSACRE:

This for me was a game changer. I had never seen anything like it, and once I got a copy from Dustin Mills I made sure to show everyone I could. It’s a fucking horror/action film with all puppets!!!! I love this film, and I’ve even got a PMM tattoo.

HARD CANDY:

This was the film that made me want to make films. It’s not necessarily Horror, but it was pretty scary (laughs). It was a simply story with a twist that I didn’t see coming. I called several people that night after watching and old them to go rent it.

SLEEPAWAY CAMP 2:

This was one of the first Horror Films I remember renting from the local video store that was outside of the Universal Monsters films. Which was like going from PBS to Cinemax because….well Boobs.

.

PSYCHO:

I had read the book before watching the film, and though it’s different it was still effective and beautiful. The cinematography, the storyline and mystery behind it was amazing. But that’s probably because it came from the master of suspense.

CRITTERS:

This film is pure gold in my eyes, and it’s why I love making creature features. Amazing creatures, with and amazing storyline that’s minimal on a grand scale. Comedy, Suspense, and kickass 80’s tunes to tie together a a phenomenal part of my childhood.

.

.

.

THE WOLFMAN:

This is the very first film I can remember watching as a kid in my grandpa’s living room. And to this day it is still my number one because it’s a classic that can still complete against Horror Films today. It has one hell of a plot that you didn’t see coming, A love story intertwined with conflict, action, tragedy and murder. Which in my eyes is the perfect recipe for a horror film.
