Live-action Akira is finally moving forward!!

Variety is reporting that the US live-action adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira is finally moving forward! 
The Akira adaptation is being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson through the company Appian Way. Taika Waititi is directing. No cast announced as of yet.
